What I like:
The colors and contrasting textures. One of my favorite outfits in my closet.

Crocheting is one of my favorite hobbies. Combine that with a generous hospitality for closeting sweaters and you’re basically doomed to have too many sweaters or else not enough projects to crochet. This chunk knit took only a couple months to crochet, but the design process took seven years. Yes. I purchased this yarn about seven…wait, maybe it was longer than seven. Maybe eight? Whatever its age, I spent years crocheting and taking apart designs. I even made it into a regular sweater at one point, but the dream of the perfect long cardigan remained.

I purposely designed this piece to be worn with shorter dresses and shorts, though it can be worn with just about anything. It has some of the traits of an oversized varsity jacket, which is also a style I love. The piece is very warm and cozy. At first I wondered how much I’d wear it because of the color (since I purchased it so long ago), but I found that in cold weather it is now my go-to cardigan.

As for this outfit, the color scheme is just perfect. It reminds me of a pastel watermelon or melon of some kind. If it were practical I’d dress in something similar almost all the time. It’s comfortable, cozy, breezy, casual, yet still put together.
