Lines of Light

This was a wonderful morning when I woke up energized before 8 o’clock and the lighting was spectacular. I rolled out of bed, got dressed, and shot pictures without a second thought. I wanted to shoot something beside my bed for a long time, but I wasn’t sure when I would feel well enough to shoot so early. (Compared to the last five years before 8am is quite early, though I’ve been waking up at 8 for the last couple of months.)

The style of the shoot felt a bit more dramatic. I’ve shot more emotional images recently, partly because I’m getting back into my creative groove again. (This took two years!) The odd thing about this shoot is that the images I expected to be the best didn’t turn out, yet my random shots came out beautifully. (Prime example, the profile shot with the black background.) I don’t have a way of seeing myself as I shoot so it is a hit and miss process. This I propped my tripod in some odd spots, so framing the shots was tricky. As a result the images cropped awkwardly in shot, but I think some of the pictures came out beautiful anyway.
