Lady of the Wood

Styling, Photography, Editing: Mary Tait

Model: Annie Mihm

I’ve known this model for a long time. Annie is a long time friend of our family, and is fun-loving, adventurous, and very much herself. She has a fondness for the imaginary (like me) so I approached this shoot with the ideas of her confidence and the fantastical in mind. My vision was she was a lady of the woods, dwelling and living among the trees but somehow still allusive to those who would wander her home.

On the technical side, the photoshoot was a bit of a challenge with some of the lighting, but Annie was patient and I was able to get plenty of practice. I also downloaded Lightroom, so this shoot was my first time editing with it. I can feel a bit frustrated, but I have to remind myself that I’m slowly making my way along, and each shoot is a little more practice for me.
