This week is small business week and my posts will be sharing outfits from two different online boutiques I’ve come to love. No one paid me to write these posts. I’m writing them because I love these boutiques and I believe it’s important to support small businesses (and the people who run them)!
I mentioned in part one of this series how Pinterest is an often forgotten (or underestimated) business tool. Believe it or not I also discovered today’s featured boutique, Morning Lavender, through Pinterest.
A New Way to Shop
One day I discovered a friend obsessively pinning pictures of the most lovely and feminine outfits on Pinterest. When I realized that the outfits were shopable (and affordable) I went on the same pinning spree. I love a good oversized blazer and pants, but I have a soft spot for romantic tulle skirt and flowing maxis.
Morning Lavender was my first step into the world of online boutique shopping. I remember taking the time to measure myself (and guessing how long of a skirt I could wear without putting on a pair of heels). Fortunately Morning Lavender has detailed measurements of all their items so I was confident my order would fit.
This skirt has been a favorite of mine to pull out and wear. It’s great for special occasions or when I want to feel girly and pretty. I don’t know how you can’t twirl when wearing this skirt and it makes me happy whenever I wear it.
One of Morning Lavender’s strengths is its carefully curated collections. The pieces are classic, yet modern, and always remains ultra feminine. There are so many pieces perfect for weddings and special occasions I have pretty much decided that (someday) when I get engaged I’m going to use it as an excuse to get a new dress.
Not only has the business flourished over the last few years, but owner Kim Le Pham (also fashion and lifestyle blogger Lace & Locks) has opened two stores, one of which has a beautiful cafe attached. (You can have afternoon tea there, which is so cool.) Morning Lavender is slowly expanding to include petite and plus sizes, and recently added athletic wear—all while keep the same romantic and feminine aesthetic.
On Instagram they remain one of the best boutiques I have seen on social media. They regularly produce gorgeous flat lays of outfit ideas, and have fun behind the scenes videos and images on their stories. One of the best perks of their account is their Thursday try on sessions. Every week a new member of the team takes over the Instagram and models a few outfits while giving a review of the pieces. The women modeling come in all shapes and sizes which really helps if you are wondering how a piece is going to fit you.
Go check out Morning Lavender if you are looking for beautiful feminine clothing (at an affordable price). My skirt sold out long ago, but the same skirt is available in a variety of lengths and sizes in three gorgeous colors. It is the perfect special occasion skirt if you like having a closet with a bit more versatility.
And that wraps up small business week! I hope you enjoyed these posts. I’d love to hear your thoughts. If you’d like, comment with your favorite boutiques below!
